A true Russet, it has rough skin and a high sugar content. For cider enthusiasts, the Roxbury is very firm and delivers subtle grapefruit notes as well as interesting tannins. Like the Russet, its productivity is low.

Redfree
Scab-resistant, moderately hardy. Can be stored at 0°C for no more than three months. Harvested at maturity in mid-August. Small to medium fruit, 80% red.
Red Cort
All the traits of the Cortland … or almost. Redcort develops a deeper, more consistent red colour. Harvest is a week before the Cortland, but its shelf life is shorter. However, it is a good candidate for CA storage.
