Orleans
A new cultivar from Quebec, resulting from a cross between Honeycrisp and Empire by apple breeder Serge Mantha of the Quebec City region. Excellent size, red colour. It is crunchy and tasty. The tree is hardy and very vigorous. This newcomer to the apple-growing world is making waves!
Novamac
A scab-resistant cultivar. Fruit displays red streaking on a green background. A tart McIntosh-type apple.
Melba
Colour is a reddish-pink blush on a yellow background. Fruit is somewhat crisp and is sensitive to bruising. Harvest is in mid-August for direct sale. Characteristic apple flavour. One of the best summer apples.
McIntosh “Summerland”
A late-harvest McIntosh. The medium to large fruit is a lovely, uniform red. Beautiful two-toned fruit, characteristic of the McIntosh. Good yields without biennial bearings.
McIntosh “Red Max”
A large-sized McIntosh. Very dark red with some streaking. Crisp, slightly acidic flesh. Ripens later than the original McIntosh.
McIntosh “Pioneer Mac”
Known to be the firmest of the McIntosh varieties. Remains on the tree longer, therefore not susceptible to dropping. Harvested a few days later than the original McIntosh. Attractive colour. A good candidate for CA storage.
