McIntosh Marshall

A remarkable line of McIntosh discovered in Massachusetts. Apart from its deep red colouring, it is identical to the traditional McIntosh. It is picked three to five days earlier than the original McIntosh, which is useful for coordinating the McIntosh harvest. The most beautiful early season McIntosh.

Lobo

Lobo

Large red fruit. Medium crunch. Juicy and still very popular. Harvest begins on September 5, but if it is left to reach full ripeness in mid-September, it becomes more flavourful. Ideal for apple sauces and pies.

Lodi

A cross between the Transparent Yellow and the Montgomery. It is very similar to the Transparent Yellow, except that it is picked five days earlier and is slightly larger.

Liberty

This scab-resistant variety closely resembles the McIntosh, but with a much more acidic flavour. It is picked late in the season with a short harvest window.

Jonamac

A McIntosh-type apple, high-producing. Requires chemical and/or manual thinning. Medium-sized fruit.

Yellow Transparent

Medium-sized fruit. Reaches ripeness around August 10. Thin, almost white skin when very ripe. Bruises easily. The fruit falls promptly when ripe. This variety originated in Russia. The tree is hardy but very susceptible to fire blight.

Jersey Mac

This apple is light red against a green background. The flavour is sweet-tart. Harvest is around August 15. Intended for direct sale. A good early season apple.
