Our varieties

A cross between Red Delicious and McIntosh, the Empire is a favourite among Quebecers. With its dark red, almost purple colour, medium size and crisp flesh, the sweet, juicy Empire is a solid choice for a well-located orchard. However, the tree is neither vigorous nor very hardy, and will produce small fruits if subjected to drought. The fruit has a very good shelf life in controlled-atmosphere or cold storage.
